No. We do not recommend driving with the pole in the mounts. Our holding system is designed for stationary operation only. We strongly urge you to take all poles down from the mounts when the vehicle is in motion.

90% of the RV ladder rails are a 1.00” diameter.  All of our mounts (1.0, 1.5, 2.0) were designed to fit the 1.0” diameter ladder.  We make mounts to accommodate your larger ladder rails. Please measure the diameter or circumference of your ladder to he below chart, prior to ordering your Flagpole Buddy merchandise.

Please call Flagpole Buddy at (858) 472 – 5613. We will make sure to get you the proper modification caps needed to fit your ladder. Please note that there is an additional shipping fee to send any necessary replacements. 

Yes. You will need a 7/16 Socket or Hex Driver. This tool is used to secure the Twist and Cup to the mounts.

Each ladder manufacturer has a size tolerance. We made the mounts to fit the smallest ladders that we know of.  Because of that, there will be more “crush” on some other ladders. There may be a gap (up to 3/8”) between the mount and cap. This is okay, as the mount and cap do NOT have to touch to be tight enough. All mounts should be tightened to the point that the mount does not rotate on the ladder.

Flagpole Buddy mounts are made of fiberglass filled nylon, which makes them very tough. However, they can break if tightened too fast (i.e., using a power driver). We recommend tightening our mounts by hand. Alternate the tightening from side to side until the mounts are seated and/or cannot be rotated around the ladder. If a mount breaks, please call Flagpole Buddy at (858) 472 – 5613. Our mounts do have a lifetime warranty. Flagpole Buddy is happy to replace your needed part. Please note that there is an additional shipping fee to send any necessary replacements. 

The 1.0 mounts (used for the 12ft flagpole) are designed for the right side of the ladder. 

The 1.5 and 2.0 mounts (used for all other poles and kits) are designed for the left side of the ladder. 

If you wish to move the 1.5 or 2.0 mounts to the right side of your ladder, you can. You will need to rotate the mounts 90 degrees counterclockwise, looking up from the bottom.  

For:

FIBERGLASS: With the bottom Cup installed about 5 feet from the ground, the Upper Twist should be located on the thicker lowest pole section, about 3.5 ft apart. 

ALUMINUM: With the bottom Cup installed about 5 feet from the ground, or where it is comfortable for you. The Twist can be installed as far away from the bottom Cup as possible. 

Yes, your pole will support both items. Note: Our fiberglass Xtreme Poles are stronger than our std pole.
